Idea Generation For Lloyds Commercial Banking
Earlier this month we held a knowledge session for Lloyds Commercial Banking to help its team of internal communicators find new and inspired ways to aid problem solving.
Through discussion, activities and shared learning, led by our internal comms experts, the 13 Lloyds Commercial Banking team members explored what creativity meant to them and why it’s still so important in corporate communication.
We introduced the Lloyds Commercial Banking team to six techniques that could help generate original creative thought, highlighted how to ‘borrow’ ideas from real-world communications and explained how to differentiate between good ideas and great ideas.
The knowledge session began with an introduction to the definition of creativity, which involved exploring the generation of new concepts and the innovation of existing ideas. The group learnt that delving into the imagination doesn’t mean regressing to childhood but shaking off the dull processes that inhibit us from tapping into a rich supply of untouched resources in the brain.
Some analysed the techniques to generating, borrowing and grading creative ideas in more detail and how to most effectively filter the brainstorming process. Whilst others learnt about real-world communications and the plethora of different channels available to deliver key business messages in a more enagaging way.
At the beginning of the knowledge day we asked the 13 Lloyds Commercial Banking team members to evaluate their creative flair and decide on a hierarchy from the least creative in the group to the most. By the end of the session each person felt they had a renewed positive perception of how resourceful and inventive they could be in thinking creatively.
Emma Hoare, Senior Manager, said: “Following the session the feedback from the team was really positive. They felt reinvigorated and inspired and their creativity re-energised.”
