Bupa’s Business Forum has a Global Appeal
This year's Bupa Business Forum, which we managed earlier this month, not only brought together 280 senior leaders in London but also managed to reach countless staff across the group using digital media.
To break down barriers of communication, encourage global unity and ensure business messages were accessible for all global staff, we worked with Bupa's internal communications team and used the company's own internal social networking site, Bupa Live, to host event content throughout the day, for all staff to view.
Using Bupa Live ensured all non attending employees were able to view the sessions from the conference instantly and experience the day as if they were actually there. Users could log on to Bupa Live and browse a number of images of the event; watch a selection of videos created from footage captured on live relay cameras throughout the day; read slide content from all the different presentations and breakout sessions and read blogs.
We also created a chill out area at the event, which was an interactive hub for the attending delegates. In this lounge Bupa staff had access to a number of computers where they could log onto Bupa Live and make 'Bleets' (twitter style comments) throughout the day on the internal social networking site and engage in the day's discussions and business messages.
Technology also played a big part in the main plenary session, which saw an impressive 20m wide by 4m high screen welcome delegates with spectacular panoramic images of the cities where Bupa has offices. A mixture of still images, bespoke videos and presentation slides were projected in HD onto the screen and controlled using Spyder Vista technology to create a completely immersive and engaging experience.

Embracing technology and incorporating these new tools into the day's communications ensured the conference was very successful and all global Bupa staff felt informed and involved in the day.
