A Sporting Chance

Our long-term commitment to nurture young local sporting talent is set for another year, as we continue to support junior elite athletes Vicky Graves and Lois Rosindale as well as international long distance triathlete Bella Bayliss, following another triumphant year.

All three athletes had a very successful 2009 race schedule competing in and winning a number of high profile UK, European and international races and we hope that this year with our continued sponsorship they’ll be able to achieve the same level of success.

Along with our ongoing financial support for all three athletes which is helping them to train, travel and compete in a number of international races and buy the necessary equipment, this month we have also been providing business help and advice to nineteen year old Lois.

Lois Rosindale

As part of her Sport & Exercise Science degree, which she is studying at Leeds Metropolitan, Lois was required to complete a work placement.  We were delighted to help out with this and help her learn about business and offer additional support in her academic career as well as her sporting one. During her placement Lois used her knowledge of sport and her healthy lifestyle and applied her skills and experience to help us improve our working culture and develop a healthier workplace.

Dirk Mischendahl, Founder and Managing Director at Logistik comments; “We strongly believe in this initiative and hope that we can inspire other businesses to offer similar local sporting prospects their support.  It is great that we have already been able to start the new year offering a different level of support.  Providing business advice and development opportunities outside of the sporting world is extremely beneficial to help the athletes become well rounded individuals with commercial acumen to help them go further in their careers.

“We are committed to develop and inspire young people and we are proud to be able to support, engage and inspire the next generation of talent through funding and work placement opportunities.”

Here are some of their top race results from 2009. We look forward to tracking their progress in 2010!
