Strong Foundations with Martin House

In 2009 we decided to focus on one charity and dedicate our efforts in engaging our staff on as many different levels as possible to help support Martin House Hospice, a children’s hospice based in Wetherby.

This past year has seen our relationship with the charity grow stronger and stronger and our staff have become more involved in annual fundraising activities and monthly initiatives, helping us to donate over £8,000 worth of in-kind support and money to the children’s hospice.

The long list of projects that we have worked on with Martin House in the short space of twelve months is testament to our ongoing commitment to supporting this worthy cause.  Throughout 2009 we had some great fundraising successes, with over £1,400 raised by the Logistik Corporate team in the Jane Tomlinson 10k Run in Leeds. As well as spending hours on various brainstorming sessions to provide the charity with some great ideas on how to increase its brand awareness, engage corporate sponsors and improve its website.

Leeds 10k Run 2009

This year we are hoping to match or better the level of support for the children's hospice, and we’ve got some exciting things planned to help us get there. We already have an eager Logistik team of 10 confirmed for this year’s 10k run in Leeds and have a number of volunteers across the group putting forward ideas for our monthly lunchtime fundraising events. Plus, our brand communications specialists, Triffid has committed to spending the equivalent of one day per month working with Martin House on branding and presentations, as well as helping it to develop new areas of communication.

Julie Henderson the Corporate Fundraiser at Martin House has been delighted with our help this year, commenting; "Our partnership with Logistik has worked fantastically well this year as you continue to help our children and families with your many different fundraising activities. In addition, we are very lucky that you have given your valuable time to share your expertise with our team, allowing us to enhance our own skills and knowledge for the benefit of the hospice. Thanks for your support!"

Last year our staff were really engaged with the charity, extremely enthusiastic and willing to organise activities and get involved however they felt they could help.  Across the group we have all thoroughly enjoyed the past year and are looking forward to making 2010 our best year ever supporting Martin House Hospice.
