Stars in Post Office Eyes
The Post Office threw an awards bash with a difference this month to reward its top 200 performers, using state of the art technology, beautiful contemporary styling and a surprise celebrity host and entertainer. Working with the Post Office Internal Communications team for the second time, we helped to design, coordinate and manage an awards ceremony with a ‘Wow Factor’ that delegates would never forget.
Guests were treated to a red carpet drinks reception in the courtyard of the Chancery Court Hotel, London, as they arrived for the evening’s event in all their finery. Entertained by stilt walkers and jugglers, guests were then enticed into the ballroom through a mysterious draped tunnel, complete with smoke and dramatic lighting.

The main celebrations were held in a gorgeously themed grand ballroom. Our stylists used the Best of the Best gold star logo as the main motif throughout the room’s décor, using bespoke star and floral table centres and huge free-standing glass cases with hanging stars inside them to decorate the room.
After guests were comfortably seated, the lights dimmed and a spectacular 60 second light and sound show, utilising the massive LED wall provided a high visual impact to start off the proceedings. Also granting a suitable introduction for the evening’s surprise celebrity host and entertainer, Broadway star and US and UK television actor, John Barrowman!

Screens either side of the LED wall were fed by a live camera feed from four cameras capturing the entire evening and six plasma screens scattered across the room showed different video content. Our film and video experts filmed throughout the day and evening and a two-man crew roamed the red carpet interviewing delegates for vox pops. This footage was then edited on-site to provide content throughout the ceremony and for three separate cascade videos, as well as on the Post Office intranet.
The awards ceremony went off with a bang and guests were treated to a truly inspiring evening created to make them feel special and recognise their effort and hard work throughout the year. The innovative event used state of the art AV production to create the atmosphere, emulate the style of a live talent TV show and provide big visual impact that amazed and astounded attendees.
