Triathlon Triathlete Experience with Bella Bayliss

15x IronMan Champion Bella Bayliss

Top-level international triathlete Bella Bayliss is working with us, to offer one lucky reader a ‘money can’t buy experience’ of professional triathlon training this summer - perfect for someone preparing for any big events this year, such as the London Triathlon on 8th August.

Using the auction site eBay, UK triathlete and triathlon fans will have the chance to bid from Friday 14 May until Sunday 23 May 2010, for a six hour training experience in London with one of the world’s best long distance triathletes and 15 x Ironman Champion. Plus, all the money raised through the auction’s highest bid will go directly to SportsAid, to support emerging talented athletes in the UK.

Hatched out of an idea by Dirk Mischendahl, our Founder and Managing Director, this fundraising initiative was launched as part of a continued commitment to develop and nurture young talent. “With the launch of this initiative we are hoping to make a small difference to the next generation of sports stars. We believe deeply in grass root talent and the UK’s young undeveloped athletes are the future of our sporting success and we should invest in them now.  SportsAid is a fantastic cause that really offers young people a great opportunity to make a career in sport and we felt it was a very fitting choice when deciding on who should benefit from this initiative.”

Professional triathlete Bella Bayliss says; “This is a great idea that I am extremely proud to be a part of. It is a fantastic way to give a triathlete an experience they don’t normally get, whilst helping the young talent of the future.  This sort of investment is key to our future sporting success as a nation and I would urge more businesses to see the potential in home grown sporting talent.

“When I was 17 year’s old I received support from SportsAid for a couple of years and I was even SportsAid Foundation Athlete of the Year once too.  Having the financial support from SportsAid for those years was so helpful and encouraging and allowed me to strive to be the best I could be and train for a sport that I knew I would be great in. SportsAid helped me get to where I am today and I want to help them to continue to raise money to help benefit others, and give them the starting chance that I had.”
