Bupa Business Forum 2010
THE CHALLENGE
Continue the success of last year’s Bupa Business Forum and manage the entire delivery of the 2010 event; bringing together 280 senior leaders across the group and ensuring the day’s content is accessible to all 50,000 Bupa’s employees across the world.
OUR RESPONSE
We managed all elements of this event, providing creative content and message development for all presentations, full speaker support, design and build solutions, engaging technology and video production, as well as assistance with delegate management and logistics.
To ensure business messages were accessible for all global staff, Bupa’s own internal social networking site, ‘Bupa Live’, was used to share all the event content throughout the day. Utilising ‘Bupa Live’ ensured all non attending employees were able to view the sessions from the conference instantly and experience the day as if they were actually there. Bupa’s colleagues from all over the world could log on to the site and browse a number of images of the event; watch a selection of videos created from footage captured on live relay cameras and edited throughout the day; read slide content from all the different presentations and breakout sessions; and read blogs.
A ‘Bupa Live Lounge’ networking area designed to look like a Mac store was created for delegates to network face to face in a relaxed environment throughout the day. This area was also an interactive hub for attending delegates. Here they could access a number of computers, log on to ‘Bupa Live’ and make ‘Bleets’ (Twitter style comments) throughout the day and engage in global discussions around Bupa’s business messages.
Technology played a huge part in the main plenary session, which saw an impressive 20m wide by 4m high front projection screen welcome delegates with spectacular panoramic images. A mixture of still images, bespoke videos and presentation slides were projected in HD onto the screen and controlled using Spyder Vista technology to create a completely immersive and engaging experience for delegates.
The day was completed with an evening award’s ceremony. The look and feel of the room was created with a bespoke lighting solution, 16m wide stage and live camera relay on two screens creating a glamorous and celebratory occasions for all those involved.
THE RESULT
Embracing technology and incorporating the use of digital media into the day’s communications, ensured the conference was successful in its global reach, informing and involving all employees across the group in the day.
